Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the .NAME generic domain name extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to obtain john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired third-level domain names remained working.

You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registration provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no particular rules on who can secure a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
